Mike Day extended his lead in the BMX Trials with a come-from-behind victory in the first moto, a race that was marred by an ugly crash that may have taken Steven Cisar out of the competition.

Cisar, second-fastest in the time trial, overshot a jump on the second straightaway and landed hard. He stayed on the track long after the moto finished as a pair of trainers rushed to his aid, helping him from the track.

Day, who used his time trial win to choose a starting position in the middle of the seven-rider lineup, got off quickly and was battling Cisar for the lead before Cisar appeared to get too much air beneath him coming out of the first turn, sailing well over the landing area. After the time trial and first moto Day has a commanding 15 points, seven ahead of second-place rider Donny Robinson.
