Beach volleyball: May-Treanor, Walsh win gold

BEIJING -- Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh had not lost a set in beach volleyball through these Olympic Games and were not about to start when it counted the most.

On Thursday morning, amid a steady rain, they won the gold medal with a 21-18, 21-18 victory over China’s Tian Jia and Wang Jie. It was the second straight Olympic gold for the California pair.
