Software manufacturer Corel recently announced a mandatory update to WinDVD, a program that enables people to play high-definition DVDs (along with other types of disc) on their PCs. The update aims to close some of the holes that hackers exploited to circumvent the electronic locks on HD DVD and Blu-ray discs, enabling bootlegs of more than 100 high-def movies to circulate online.
