As the thousands of Republican delegates, guests, political allies and journalists begin to fly off from St. Paul after the confetti settles tomorrow night, how many of them will make the hot tourist pit stop of the Twin Cities: the airport bathroom stall where Idaho Sen. Larry Craig -- conspicuously absent from these proceedings -- allegedly made an overture to an undercover vice cop?

If there aren’t postcards of that men’s room yet, there should be. And the tourism board here should take a page from both the cement footprints in the forecourt of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre and the space program’s tradition of outlining the astronaut’s footprints in paint as he stepped from the space capsule onto the deck of an aircraft carrier. Paint a silhouette of the footprints from Senator Craig’s wide stance on the floor of the historic stall, so everyone can answer for himself, just how wide was it?
