What bubble-era luxuries would you never want to be caught dead with in the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression? In his column today, Joel Stein offers his list of indulgences that may have seemed perfectly reasonable (perhaps even ‘investment quality’ -- it was a financial bubble, after all) when the cash flowed but have since fallen out of favor with the masses. Stein’s list:

  • Tasting menus
  • Stainless steel
  • The entire city of Las Vegas
  • Dasani
  • Spas
  • $50 T-shirts
  • Crocs
  • Bravo channel
  • Hedge funds
  • Designer jeans
  • Williamsburg, Brooklyn
  • Dog gyms

Now it’s your turn: What bubble-era binge buys look gaudy and ridiculous to you in today’s shrinking economy? Provide your list in the comments section; next week, we’ll go through the lists and post some of the more eye-popping submissions in a separate blog entry.
