Maldonado’s nomination was rejected by the Assembly earlier this year, but he was reappointed by Gov. Schwarzenegger. Speker John Perez (D-Los Angeles) said he has spoken to Maldonado about a ‘pathway’ to confirmation, but has not said whether or not he would support the nomination. But Maldonado Wednesday said ‘“Speaker Perez has mentioned to me that he’ll be voting for me tomorrow on the floor.”
