Hollywood heavyweights to raise money for Brown

Democratic gubernatorial nominee Jerry Brown will be the beneficiary of a star-studded fund-raiser Thursday at an exclusive West Hollywood social club.

The fund-raiser, hosted by Steven Spielberg, Kate Capshaw, Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen, will take place 7 p.m. Thursday at Soho House, according to Brown spokesman Sterling Clifford. Guests are contributing up to $25,900 to attend.

The event is not open to the press. The guest list includes a who’s who of Hollywood, including George Lucas, J.J. Abrams, Annette Bening and Warren Beatty, Ari and Sarah Emanuel, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Leslie Mann and Judd Apatow, Lyn and Norman Lear, and Sherry Lansing, according to a report in the Hollywood Reporter.
