Memo from Executive Editor, Interactive, Meredith Artley and Online Managing Editor Sean Gallagher:

We are very pleased to announce several promotions at LATimes.com.

Tim Garrison -- Lead Homepage Editor
Tim has been named Lead Homepage Editor to recognize his outstanding work orchestrating homepage updates during prime time traffic hours. A maestro of the tools used to produce the main face of our site, Tim’s day begins early with dispatches from the Foreign desk, Washington, D.C. and New York. He and the talented dayside crew have also been working closely with Metro to get breaking local coverage on the site much faster than at any time in our past. Tim is an outstanding headline writer and a focused, smart presence in the face of breaking news stories and all the producing, technical and communication demands that come with such events.

Tenny Tatusian -- Senior News Producer
Tenny also starts her mornings early, poring over Google trends and our own search results so our site reflects much of the collective consciousness of the Web. Tenny’s solid judgment and eye for handling breaking news enhance her role as a senior news producer. She will continue to work close with Tim on homepage and breaking news updates and big event coverage, liaise with news desks, and also drive the homepage at certain times during her week. She’s a great communicator of ideas and best practices -- that will only ramp up in this new role. She will be a champion of aggregating multimedia content on our site and elsewhere as she keeps working closely with a wide range of producers, editors and reporters. Tenny’s wicked wit and inclination to bring in tasty treats will continue to be welcome in this new role.

Michael Owen -- Senior News Producer
While Michael starts his day in the afternoon, his strong news judgment makes him ideally suited to drive the homepage, working with the small but mighty evening staff to prioritize coverage. In addition to his evening homepage duties he will become a familiar face in the newsroom as he works folks from all corners to marshal resources for key stories. We’ll take advantage of his already established leadership on workflow and process issues in this new role, and also his penchant for political news as the election nears. He’s always one to ask why we do something a certain way and suggest a more common sense, more efficient way to do it. Michael’s talents and schedule are suited to deal with the evening rush of closing articles and late-breaking news.

Please join us in congratulating Tim, Tenny and Michael.
