TheEnvelope.com is hearing unconfirmed reports that the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. will soon announce altered plans to unveil award winners on Sunday night. Instead of being presented during an exclusive NBC telecast hosted by ‘Access Hollywood’ stars Billy Bush and Nancy O’Dell, the news may be presented during a nonexclusive press conference open to all media and hosted officially by the HFPA. Sources say the format will be similar to press conferences typically staged by the HFPA to unveil nominees, but it may involve various entertainment journalists from diverse media pitching in to announce a few categories each. It’s unclear if NBC will still broadcast the event live at 9 p.m. EST/ 6 p.m. PST. A formal announcement is expected this afternoon.
