Rosie O’Donnell is returning to the small screen -- for one night, at least.

NBC announced today that the comedian and talk show host will emcee a live, hour-long variety show on Nov. 26, the night before Thanksgiving. According to the press release, ’ ‘Rosie’s Variety Show’ will feature a wide array of celebrity guests, musical acts, comedy skits and a giant primetime giveaway for both the in-studio and home audiences.’

This will be O’Donnell’s first television gig since she abruptly left her seat on ‘The View’ in May 2007. If successful, it could pave the way for her to helm a recurring variety program for NBC.

‘This is a dream come true for any performer,’ she said in a statement. ‘Old time variety, live from New York with a nod to Ed Sullivan, Carol Burnett and memories of Sonny and Cher.’

The variety special will include musical production numbers and comedy sketches by O’Donnell and other performers.
