DEALBREAKER: Production begins on Liz’s (Tina Fey) new talk show on a new episode of the comedy ’30 Rock’ at 9:30 p.m. on NBC.

In the House: This new film-centric series premieres with guests Morgan Freeman (‘Invictus’) and director Tom Ford (‘A Single Man’) (5:30 p.m. Encore).

The Office: Michael (Steve Carell) realizes he cannot keep a promise he made to a group of kids 10 years ago, while Jim (John Krasinski) tries to boost staff morale by launching an employee of the month program in this new episode (9 p.m. NBC).

Private Practice: Addison must perform a complex in-utero surgery (9 p.m. ABC) and in a second new episode an explosion at Dell’s house sends Heather and Betsey to the hospital (10 p.m. ABC).

The Real Housewives of Orange County: Vicki tries to set up her daughter, Briana, with the son of one of her insurance colleagues in the wake of Briana’s breakup with her high-school sweetheart in this new episode (10 p.m. Bravo).

Ace of Cakes: The crew at Charm City gets into the holiday spirit by dressing up as Mary Smith tries to create the ultimate in Christmas stocking cakes (10 p.m. Food).

Jersey Shore: Eight people come together for the summer to live and work in Seaside Heights in the premiere of this unscripted series (10 p.m. MTV).

BBQ Pitmasters: Teams head to the Nevada desert for the Smokin’ in Mesquite BBQ competition with $40,000 in cash and prizes at stake in the premiere of this new series (10 p.m. TLC).

A Christmas Carol: Many consider this 1938 version their favorite screen adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic. June Lockhart made her film debut at age 12 as one of the children of Bob and Emily Cratchit, played by her real-life parents, Gene and Kathleen Lockhart. Reginald Owen stars as Ebenezer Scrooge (5 p.m. TCM).

Home for the Holidays: Director Jodie Foster’s 1995 comedy stars Holly Hunter as a single mom who faces Thanksgiving with her eccentric parents. The talent-packed cast includes Charles Durning, Anne Bancroft, Geraldine Chaplin, Robert Downey Jr. and a Dylan McDermott (8 p.m. MyNet).
