Person of Interest: The Machine leads Finch and Reese (Michael Emerson, Jim Caviezel) to a teenager who was killed two years ago. Taraji P. Henson also stars in this new episode (9 p.m. CBS).

The Office: After an inspiring speech, Robert (James Spader) challenges his underlings to double their sales in this new episode (9 p.m. NBC).

Grey’s Anatomy: The chief (James Pickens Jr.) makes a decision that rocks the hospital staff in this new episode (9 p.m. ABC).

The Mentalist: Jane is reinstated as a CBI consultant, but must work with a new team that is investigating the murder of a personal trainer (10 p.m. CBS).

Prime Suspect: When Sweeney (Aidan Quinn) calls for all hands on deck, Jane (Maria Bello) becomes involved in Duffy’s (Brian F. O’Byrne) homicide and kidnapping case, but causes friction by suggesting they talk to the victim’s employees in this new episode (10 p.m. NBC).

Private Practice: Benjamin Bratt joins the medical drama’s cast full time in the season premiere. Kate Walsh, Taye Diggs and Tim Daly also star (10 p.m. ABC).
