Earlier today, sports editor Randy Harvey wrote about The Sportings News’ annual rankings of the country’s best sports cities.

He lamented L.A.’s eighth-place finish, and I agree we should be a few notches higher -- two places back of Phoenix/Tempe? Puh-leese! -- but my favorite part of the poll was a segment where athletes wrote about their favorite places to eat.

University of Colorado linebacker George Hypolite carried the torch for L.A., and he did it well. His top spot: Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles on Pico.
