What’s with the roster card, Charlie?

So why is it that every time the ESPN camera finds Notre Dame football Coach Charlie Weis on the sideline during tonight’s game against USC, Weis covers his mouth with what looks like a laminated roster or page of plays? Is he really that afraid that someone is going to steal some of the brilliance that is supposed to be coming out of his mouth?

When the cameras point at USC Coach Pete Carroll, Carroll just talks more, mouth uncovered.

If only Pete would say, ‘Read my lips, Charlie. We’re winning, 31-3.’
