Seven charter flights with an estimated 1,100 Penn State fans are departing Harrisburg International Airport Monday and Tuesday for Thursday’s Rose Bowl game between No. 5 USC and No. 6 Penn State.

The traveling fan base, says an airport spokesman, improved the airport’s yearly passenger numbers by 2%.

For the fans’ sake, they should hope their flight fares better than the many stranded at LAX last week. Penn State fans should also remember not to repeat the same travel mistakes their team made for the 1923 game.
