Former Angels first baseman Casey Kotchman signed a one-year, $2.885-million contract with the Atlanta Braves.

The figure is near the midpoint of the salary figures Kotchman exchanged with the Braves last month. Kotchman, who was traded by the Angels in July as part of the Mark Teixeira deal, asked for $3.25 million. The Braves offered him $2.475 million.

Kotchman can earn an additional $100,000 in incentives. He will earn $25,000 each for making his 575th, 600th, 625th and 650th plate appearances.
