The Kings activated defenseman Tom Preissing off injured reserve Sunday and put winger Raitis Ivanans on injured reserve because of what they’re calling an upper-body injury.

Preissing has played only 22 games this season because Coach Terry Murray didn’t think he competed hard enough and because he later developed a case of vertigo. His trade value is low, but the Kings may try to ship him elsewhere before Wednesday’s noon Pacific Time trade deadline.

Ivanans collided with a Red Wings player in the second period of the Kings’ game Friday at Detroit and got the worst of the impact. He has two points and a team-high 115 penalty minutes in 60 games.

The press release the Kings sent about these moves -- and their magnetic schedule and their media guide -- all say their game today at Chicago was to be broadcast on FS West. But it’s actually on Prime Ticket.
