Would you believe USC leads UCLA, 33-28, at halftime of the Pac-10 tournament semifinals? I’m a little surprised, but it’s not that weird. Among the standout stats ...

  • Believable: Daniel Hackett and Dwight Lewis each have played all 20 minutes for USC. Coach Tim Floyd leans on his starters pretty heavily.
  • Unbelievable: UCLA super-guards Darren Collison and Jrue Holiday are both 0 for 3 from the field.
  • Believable: USC’s Dwight Lewis and UCLA’s Josh Shipp lead all scorers with 12 points. Lewis was the Trojans’ leading scorer for much of the season, and Shipp is often an unsung hero for the Bruins.
  • Unbelievable: UCLA, which has led the nation in shooting percentage and spent awhile at ranked No. 2, managed just 31% shooting from the field.
  • Believable: USC dominated in the paint, where they scored 16 points compared to UCLA’s 6. Alfred Aboya is good, but Taj Gibson is a menace in the low post.
  • Unbelievable: No lead changes, no ties ... USC has led from the start and was up by as many as 11 at the 12:01 mark.
