With the NCAA tournament mere days away, both major polls dropped UCLA a few rungs.

The Bruins fell from 15th to 18th in the Associated Press poll, and from 14th to 17th in the coaches poll. Their RPI rating also settled a little lower, down to 35th in the CBSSports.com list.

This downward trend wasn’t unexpected, not with an upset loss to USC in the Pac-10 tournament semifinals on Friday night.

Sixth-seeded UCLA begins its quest to reach a fourth consecutive Final Four with a first-round game against 11th-seeded Virginia Commonwealth at Philadelphia’s Wachovia Center on Thursday. Tipoff is scheduled for approximately 7 p.m. PDT.
