Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League final, a 2-0 win by Barcelona over Manchester United in Rome, was the highest-rated UEFA telecast in cable history. Televised by ESPN, it was seen in an average of more than 1 million homes even though it began at 11:30 a.m. PT. It was also the second-most-watched telecast ever on ESPN Deportes, the Spanish-language cable channel, behind only the Euro 2008 final between Spain and Germany.

The UEFA game also gave ESPNDeportes.com a record day with more than 920,000 visits, a 27% increase over the day of last year’s finals, according to ESPN.
