USC quarterback Aaron Corp, who suffered a knee injury on Monday, did not participate in drills during the Trojans’ morning walkthrough and his status for an afternoon practice is questionable.
‘I’m going to try but the coaches don’t want me to push it,’ said Corp, who added that he was scheduled to see a doctor after the walkthrough, possibly for X-rays.
Corp was hurt on Monday when a lineman rolled into his left leg during a scrimmage drill. The sophomore missed a few plays but returned and ran without apparent discomfort. Freshman Matt Barkley, however, took the majority of the snaps in the last period of practice and continued to impress in his bid to overtake Corp at the top of the depth chart.
Corp wore a rubber sleeve on his left knee during today’s walkthrough and observed as Barkley, Mitch Mustain and Garrett Green went through drills.
Coach Pete Carroll said Corp would be evaluated ‘kind of practice to practice.’ He did not rule out Corp participating this afternoon, but added, ‘If he’s gimping at all, then no.’
