NCAA rules that forbid teams from traveling more than 48 hours before a game had USC rolling into its team hotel in Ohio at about 2:30 a.m. EDT.
That didn’t stop the Trojans from doing what they always do when they arrive.
‘I’m ready to chow down right now,’ Coach Pete Carroll said as he led a procession of players, coaches and staff toward a ballroom set up with a full buffet. ‘We’re going to eat and go to bed.’
Players will get a late-morning wake-up call and then go into meetings before a midday practice. Later, the Trojans will head to Ohio Stadium for a walk-through.
The Trojans’ game against Ohio State kicks off at 5 p.m. PDT on Saturday.
