California State Athletic commission member resigns

Howard Rose, a California State Athletic Commission member, has resigned effective later this month, confirmed Dave Thornton, the commission’s interim executive officer, in an e-mail to The Times.

Rose’s departure follows last week’s resignation by commission member Timothy Noonan. The leader of the state Senate has also said he will not allow an appointment hearing for Commissioner Peter Lopez, meaning he is also expected to leave the commission this year.
