The Lakers trailed the Clippers, 33-22, after the first quarter of an exhibition game Sunday at Staples Center.

Eric Gordon had 11 points for the Clippers, who pretty much had their way with the short-staffed Lakers in the quarter. Ron Artest had seven points for the Lakers, who were without injured forwards Luke Walton, Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom. None of the injuries were considered serious.

The Lakers made only seven of 22 shots in the quarter. The Clippers made 12 of 22 shots.

Odom has missed two games because of a bruised right shin, Gasol has missed three games because of a strained right hamstring and Walton has missed three games because of a sore back.
