Lost, perhaps, in the hectic finish to USC’s 34-27 victory over Notre Dame on Saturday was another outstanding performance by Trojans receiver Damian Williams.

The junior from Springdale, Ark., caught four passes for 108 yards and two touchdowns against the Fighting Irish. Williams now has 28 receptions and three touchdowns.

Williams put USC ahead early by catching a 20-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Matt Barkley.

Midway through the second half, he lined up to the left with two other Trojans receivers and caught a pass from Barkley along the line of scrimmage. Williams then dashed 41 yards untouched for the touchdown, getting a key block from receiver Brice Butler.

‘Usually, it’s three on three when we line up like that, which is usually a good situation because I can use one block to get two people -- that’s basically what happened,’ Williams said. ‘I can’t take credit for that touchdown.
