Dodgers President Dennis Mannion, who has handled the team’s day-to-day business operations for two years, will add oversight of General Manager Ned Colletti and the baseball operations to his duties, the club announced today.

‘Connecting the baseball operations to the rest of the organization is a smart move that is good for the team.’ Colletti said in a press release. ‘I have long believed that both sides of the operation will function better as one -- both understanding the challenges each has and working together to celebrate the triumphs as one group.’

Before joining the Dodgers in 2007, Mannion spent 27 seasons in major professional sports with the Philadelphia Phillies, the NBA’s Denver Nuggets, the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens and the Colorado Avalanche of the NHL.
