Greetings from Edmonton, where it’s a brisk minus 21 Celsius (that’s minus 6 Fahrenheit). The cab driver who drove me from the airport to downtown said this is the warmest day of the last four here. Good to get here for the heat wave ...

Jarret Stoll, who pulled a groin muscle in the third period of the Kings’ 3-1 loss at Vancouver on Monday, won’t play tonight against the Oilers. Forward Corey Elkins, called up from Manchester when Wayne Simmonds suffered a knee injury that required arthroscopic surgery, will be in the lineup and might center the second or third line. Coach Terry Murray called off today’s morning skate and instead held a team meeting. But no call-ups are imminent, because Manchester has also been hit by injuries and most of the Monarchs’ best players are already with the Kings.
