After a rough couple of weeks -- and five straight losses -- the Bruins finally caught a break against an overmatched New Mexico State on Tuesday night, taking a 47-26 halftime lead at Pauley Pavilion.

The Bruins had a particularly good half shooting the ball, making 61% from the floor. They also outrebounded the Aggies, 18-11.

Guards Malcolm Lee and Michael Roll led UCLA with 15 and 12 points, respectively.

There was some potentially bad news for UCLA as forward James Keefe went to the locker room holding his left shoulder -- the same shoulder he injured in 2007-08, requiring surgery for a torn labrum. He was scheduled to be evaluated after the game.

Meanwhile, New Mexico State put up little fight in the first 20 minutes. When the Aggies weren’t missing shots -- they made only 38% for the half -- they were suffering all types of turnovers, launching passes out of bounds and kicking the ball away.

Guard Jahmar Young, their top offensive weapon, managed only six points.
