Nothing like Christmas in the desert ...

It was a one-point game -- Suns leading, 25-24 -- when Marcus Camby came out of the game with 1:32 remaining in the first quarter.

Now?

Suns are up 91-71 late in the third quarter.

A close game turned into a blowout and could quickly move toward embarrassment on national TV.

Camby hyperextended his left knee in the fourth quarter of Tuesday’s loss at Houston. He did not practice Thursday but nevertheless gave it a go here on Friday, lasting about 10 minutes and grabbing five rebounds.

Word came down from the Clippers that Camby would not be returning.

Meanwhile, Suns fans are happy and still smiling about Grant Hill’s bank shot, a buzzer-beater from the Clippers’ three-point line at the end of the half.

As the NBA likes to say: Instant Amazing.
