USC Basketball: Trojans lead Washington, 42-32, at halftime

USC is shooting an impressive 61% and leads Washington, 42-32, at halftime at the Galen Center.

The Trojans are on pace for 84 points, which is pretty remarkable considering the team averages about 60 points per game. It’s USC’s highest-scoring first half of the season. The Trojans shot 17 of 28 in that first frame.

Mike Gerrity led the Trojans’ charge with eight points and four assists. He scored six straight points for USC to end the half. Marcus Johnson has a team-high 10 points for USC, as well as four assists.

The Huskies stars Quincy Pondexter and Isaiah Thomas have struggled and are a combined two of 11 for just five points at halftime.

USC used a 13-0 run to go up, 19-6, over Washington with 12:47 remaining in the first half. Washington charged back, but USC again went on a run, this time a 14-5 spurt with 3:37 left, to go up, 36-24.
