Linebacker Jordan Zumwalt from Huntington Beach Edison announced Wednesday he will sign with UCLA.

Zumwalt emerged as the No. 1 linebacker in Southern California after a monster senior season in which he led Edison into the Pac-5 Division championship game.

He committed to Stanford last May but UCLA and USC began recruiting him hard after his weekly performances on the field.

He’s a key pickup for the Bruins, who need an inside linebacker to replace Reggie Carter.

‘I believe he had a gut feeling at the end,’ Coach Dave White said.
