New York Jets owner Woody Johnson gave his first exclusive sit-down interview after the death of his daughter Casey to Fox Business Network’s David Asman. In an interview to be presented tonight on FBN, Johnson discusses the loss of his daughter, how the family is holding up, the Jets, their new stadium and having a ‘few tricks up our sleeve’ for the new season.

Some key moments, provided by Fox Business Network:

On how his family is coping after the loss of Casey:
“I think they’re holding up, but I think it’s been a severe blow for sure to everybody. Her sisters, her mother, me as well and her friends. It’s one of those things that came out of the blue. People with diabetes always -- it’s never totally unexpected because this is a lethal disease that has daily, daily hassles.”

On acquiring LaDainian Tomlinson:
‘I mean he’s, he’s a great back. He’s coming from a team that didn’t emphasize the run and we’ve got a young quarterback, so we’re emphasizing the run.’

On Mark Sanchez:
“Year 2, he will be better, guaranteed. This is kind of a perfect fit.’

On being compared to George Steinbrenner as a controlling owner:
“Well, I mean, I think when it comes to defending principle, when it comes to looking out for the fans, the New York Jet fans, yeah, I think they’re right.”

It is an interesting, as well as emotional, interview and is well worth a look when it airs tonight at 7 p.m. PST.
