Hall of Fame manager Tom Lasorda will represent the Dodgers and former first baseman Wally Joyner will represent the Angels during the nationally televised first round of the annual baseball draft June 7.

The Angels selected Joyner in the third round of the 1983 draft. The players they selected ahead of him -- outfielder Mark Doran (first round) and shortstop Bill Merrifield (second round) -- never played in the majors.

The Angels have five of the first 50 picks, thanks to compensation selections for the loss of free agents John Lackey and Chone Figgins, who were offered arbitration but signed elsewhere.

The Washington Nationals have the first overall pick and are expected to select Bryce Harper, the College of Southern Nevada catcher dubbed ‘Baseball’s Chosen One’ by Sports Illustrated.
