LaDainian Tomlinson, Terrell Owens reach new milestones

Jets running back LaDainian Tomlinson, who has rushed for more than 100 yards and two touchdowns Sunday, moved ahead of the Cowboys’ Tony Dorsett into No. 7 on the all-time rushing list for the NFL.

Tomlinson needed 42 yards to overtake Dorsett’s 12,739 yards. He moved ahead of the Dallas Hall of Famer on a 5-yard run in the first half.

Terrell Owens climbed to No. 2 for yards receiving in an NFL career with a big first half for the Bengals. He caught a 78-yard scoring pass from Carson Palmer and had 128 yards receiving in the first half to move ahead of Isaac Bruce, who had 15,208 yards receiving, mostly for the Rams. Jerry Rice is the all-time leader at 22,895 yards.

Owens needed five catches Sunday to move ahead of Bruce to No. 5 on the all-time receptions list. Bruce had 1,024.
