Fans who feel cheerleaders at NBA games are tacky might want to avoid all NBA team websites in the near future. Shortly after the lockout commenced Thursday night, the team websites joined NBA.com in drastic overhauls, eliminating all references of players.

Coaches and cheerleaders replaced players in ticket advertisments, banner images and everywhere else on the sites.

On Lakers.com, a rotating player image at the top of page featuring either Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom or Ron Artest has been replaced with the text ‘16-TIME NBA CHAMPIONS.’ Below, where a story titled ‘2010-11 Season Review’ was once accessible, fans can now find out when Lakers Girls Auditions will be held.

The websites are expected to be in their new form for as long as the lockout lasts.
