Verizon’s Apple iPhone 4 will have a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot feature that AT&T’s iPhone 4 doesn’t have, but using it will cost an extra $20 a month.

Brenda Raney, a Verizon spokeswoman, told Macworld magazine that the $20 Personal Hotspot fee will be required in addition to any voice and data plans an iPhone user might have, just as any other smart phone using the feature.

The hotspot feature -- which uses a smart phone’s 3G network to broadcast a Wi-Fi signal to up to five other devices such as phones, tablets and computers -- will also cap data usage through the hotspot at 2GB a month.

If a user wants to use more than 2GB of Web data via the Personal Hotspot feature, each extra gigabyte will cost $20, Macworld reported.
