Facebook is experimenting with a new design of its website that updates the social network’s live feed feature displaying a user’s friends’ actions on the website.

The new live feed, which sits to the right of a user’s Facebook news feed, shows people what their friends are commenting on and liking as those actions occur in real time.

The feature is being tested on a small number of Facebook users, “just a fraction of a percent,” a spokesperson for Facebook said Tuesday.

“In the coming weeks, as we learn more from this test, we’ll keep making improvements and may expand it to more people,” the spokesperson said.

The feature looks as though Facebook grabbed the Twitter iPhone app’s feed and stuck it where birthdays and events are currently placed, a user with access to the live feed said. The user also said the live feed shows everything the current news feed shows and more.
