Ortavin Hill, 28, a black man, was struck by a bullet that went through his arm and into his chest at 11120 S. Normandie Avenue in Athens. He died at 9:32 p.m. Wednesday, March 7. Sheriff’s deputies said the victim was about to cross a street with his girlfriend when a Latino man approached, exchanged words with him, shot him, then fled.
