Missing Homicides

This week, The Homicide Report begins an effort to catalogue those homicides missed by these pages in January, February, March and April.

Through multiple sources, it has become clear that, despite daily efforts to track killings on the streets of Los Angeles County, cases are missing from The Homicide Report. The report is indebted to many readers for pointing this out, and also to the coroner’s office for its work to improve its tracking system. Thanks, too, to the many law enforcement officials who increasingly take pains to ensure homicides are recorded here.

Now it’s time to ensure the Report is truly comprehensive. To anyone else with personal knowledge of 2007 killings missing from this site, The Homicide Report asks your help. Please e-mail or post a comment, with information. Missing victims’ names will be added in coming weeks.
