Reza Tehrani, a 37-year-old man of Middle Eastern descent, was found dead on a bus bench of blunt-force trauma in the 1500 block of Palisades Park along Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica about 8 a.m. Sunday, June 3. A passerby flagged down police after seeing him lying on the bench, with blood on his forehead. Tehrani is thought to be homeless, and police believe he may have been struck by someone. The area is in the part of the park adjacent to the senior center near Broadway. Anyone passing through there early Sunday morning who may have seen anything is asked to call Santa Monica police at (310) 458-8451, or after hours at (310) 458-8427.
