Update on Ashley Cheval case

HR ran this photo earlier this year of the daughter of murder victim Ashley Cheval, 23, who was killed near 43rd and Western Ave. on Aug. 25, 2006.

The daughter, age 5 in this picture, grabbed a reporter’s notebook at a news conference in which asked for help with unsolved murder case, and she insisted on writing her mother’s name. Ashley Cheval’s mother has also been featured on this Web page, as an activist for witness protection.

Now the murder investigation has been cleared. Two men, already in custody on other charges, have been charged with Ashley Cheval’s murder. Credit goes to LAPD Southwest Division Det. Mike Dixon for the clearance.
