Bobby Williams, 30, a black man, was shot and killed in the 1406 East Alondra Boulevard in Compton about 3 p.m. Saturday, April 26.

Williams sold T-shirts and CD’s in front of the liquor store at this address. He was standing on the sidewalk when a younger black man walked to him. The younger man was 18 to 20 years old, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. He and Williams exchanged words, then the younger man pulled out a gun and shot Williams several times, said Lt. Liam Gallagher of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:16 p.m.
