A Latino man and a Latina woman were killed in a hit-and-run accident at Wilcox Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood about 9 p.m. Sunday July 13. The pair were declared dead by paramedics on the scene.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the man and woman were crossing Hollywood Boulevard when they were struck by a 2005 Honda Civic, allegedly driven by Sergio Delgado, 29, a Latino man. Authorities say Delgado was under the influence and was driving erratically and that a patrol officer attempted to pull him over. Delgado sped eastbound on Hollywood Boulevard trying to elude police and struck the pair shortly after, police said. Then Delgado pulled his car over near Cahuenga Boulevard and attempted to flee on foot, but nearby citizens held him until police arrived. Delgado was arrested on suspicion of murder.
