Khachik Safaryan, a 43-year-old Armenian man, was shot and killed in his Hollywood home in the 1200 block of Tamarind Avenue on the morning of Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008, authorities said.

Safaryan’s 15-year-old daughter found the bodies when she came home from school later in the day.

Officers said there was no evidence of forced entry and no known motive for the crime.
The family car was found several blocks from the home with no forced entry, and officers said they did not know who moved the vehicle.

The incident is being investigated as a double homicide.

‘This is the first time something like this has happened to the neighborhood,’ said Oganis Orvakyan, 55, a neighbor.
