Saul Soriano, a 41-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Jan. 1, 2009, by three Los Angeles Police Department officers at a home in the 14100 block of Terra Bella Street in Arleta.

Police arrived at the residence in response to a 911 call saying that Soriano was firing shots in the air and threatening his family during a New Year’s Eve party. Responding officers surrounded the property and evacuated everyone before searching for Soriano.
