Pomona: Woman, 31, shot at motel

Nelssa Tovar, a 31-year-old Latina, died of a gunshot wound to the head on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at a Motel 6 on the 2400 block of South Garvey Avenue in Pomona, police said.
Tovar was found in a room at the motel about 1:30 a.m., authorities said. She had multiple gunshot wounds, and witnesses told police they heard several gunshots, then people running away. Paramedics pronounced Tovar dead at the scene.
Albert Martinez, 24, and Cesar Sierra, 31, were arrested that evening and arraigned on March 3. A gun was found in their car when they were arrested, but it is unclear if it was used in the shooting.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested about 5:30 p.m. Monday, March 2, in connection with the shooting.
