Jorge Duarte, a 22-year-old Latino, was shot and died July 11. He was shot at Rosecrans Avenue and Bloomfield Avenue in Norwalk, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
Duarte was stopped at a red light when several people pulled up next to him in a car and shot him several times, said Craig Harvey, a spokesman for the coroner’s office. His car then rolled through the light and crashed into a pole, Harvey said.
Duarte was shot at about 2:10 a.m. and pronounced dead at 3:01 a.m. at a local hospital.
