So what’s this the Ticket hears about Ethel Kennedy, the widow of Robert F. Kennedy, joining her brother-in-law Ted Kennedy in supporting a particular Democrat? He was in the news this week for his stunning political move and rejection of Hillary Clinton to endorse Barack Obama on Monday, along with his son Patrick and Caroline Kennedy?

Perhaps it has something to do with backing up what Ethel Kennedy said two years ago when, at her invitation, a brand-new senator named Barack Obama spoke at a ceremony marking what would have been Robert Kennedy’s 80th birthday.

In an interview that day Ethel Kennedy said of the new Illinois senator, ‘I think he feels it,’ meaning her husband’s quest for social justice. ‘He feels it like Bobby did. He has the passion in his heart. He’s not selling you. It’s just him.’

And then that day Ethel Kennedy referred to Obama as ‘our next president.’
