Many blog readers, it seems, prefer to read only items they agree with and that might bother their political opponents. So as yet another public service, The Ticket hereby delivers this all-purpose, two-part item about the final results of the interim congressional election in New York’s 20th District, the seat vacated by Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand, who was named to replace Hillary Clinton in the Senate.

Newly elected Democrat Representative Scott Murphy of New York's 20th Congressional District

Republican supporters can read the item published here in regular print. Democratic supporters can read the one in italics.

Democrats read this:

Yet again American voters have shown they agree with the bold, progressive leadership and change for all Americans promised and being delivered by President Obama. The final results of the vote in New York’s 20th District, electing Scott Murphy over what’s-his-name who didn’t even live in the district, confirm America’s decision to build for the future with a revitalized economy, education and healthcare reforms and enough spending to help every citizen who needs any help.

At last count the victory margin of more than 398 votes out of 160,441 cast is a stunning statement of support for the new White House administration that’s less than 100 days into changing America for the future -- and for the better. (Democrats stop reading here.)Republican Jim Tedisco, who came close to pulling out a stunning victory in New York's 20th Congressional District interim election

Republicans start here:

Against long odds in a difficult economy Jim Tedisco put up a valiant fight in his effort to win the empty congressional seat in New York’s 20th District that has been trending Democratic anyway in recent elections.

And he faced intense outside efforts to elect the moneyed supporter of the ultra-liberal Obama administration that is mortgaging our grandchildren’s futures with its wild-eyed liberal spending spree into the trillions of dollars.

The turnout for Jim across many sectors of the district showed that support is building toward the 2010 midterm elections to oppose a reckless federal government and those Democrats at the local level who support the greedy grab for power by an administration determined to slip its tentacles into virtually every aspect of American life.

And the loss -- by less than 400 votes -- out of 160,441 cast shows the growth in support for the responsible Republican program.
