Opinion: Obama birth certificate creates a stir on Twitter

President Obama‘s birth certificate -- the new, longer one -- has turned out to be just as fascinating to the world as his shorter one.

Soon after the White House released the president’s long-form Hawaii birth certificate Wednesday morning, Twitter was abuzz with partisan jokes, barbs at ‘birthers’ who have long denied that Obama was born in Hawaii, as well as endless amounts of ribbing at the expense of Donald Trump, who was one of the loudest critics of the short-form certificate.


‘Now that we’ve seen his birth certificate, I want to see proof that President Obama is black,’ tweeted ‘Family Guy’ creator Seth MacFarlane.

‘Obama’s response to the ‘Birthers’ is so calm, intelligent, well reasoned, and non-incendiary, he couldn’t possibly have been born here,’ wrote comedienne Paula Poundstone.
